Privacy Policy

Who we are
SMC Tech ("SMC", "we", "us") is a platform operated by SMC Media Tech that provides livestreaming, content delivery, and channel-management services to television channels and broadcasters. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What this policy covers
This policy applies to:
- The SMC Tech admin portal at control.livecdn.io, used by channel administrators;
- The public program-guide feeds and media served by the platform; and
- The mobile and TV applications we build and publish on behalf of channels.
Information we collect
Channel administrators. To provide portal accounts we collect and store:
- Your name, phone number, and email address;
- One-time sign-in codes sent to you by text message or email, and — if you choose to set one up — the public part of a passkey credential (we never see or store your fingerprint, face, or device PIN);
- Sign-in records (date, time, and IP address) and a log of settings changes, kept for security and accountability;
- Remembered-device tokens, if you choose to stay signed in on a device.
Channel content. Content that channel administrators upload or configure — program schedules, channel logos and artwork, stream settings, and social-media links — is stored so we can operate the channel's services.
Connected accounts. If a channel connects a Facebook Page or YouTube destination for live broadcasting, we store the connection details and access tokens needed to publish on the channel's behalf. Access tokens are stored encrypted.
Viewers of channel apps. The apps we publish for channels do not require viewer accounts and do not ask viewers for personal information. Standard technical information (such as IP address and device type) is processed transiently to deliver the video stream and protect the service.
How we use information
- To operate the platform: hosting streams, publishing program guides, and delivering channel content to viewers;
- To sign administrators in securely using one-time codes or passkeys;
- To send service notifications administrators have a reasonable expectation of receiving — for example, a reminder that a program guide is about to run out;
- To start and manage live broadcasts on destinations a channel has connected, only when an administrator asks us to;
- To keep the service secure and investigate misuse.
When an administrator uploads a program schedule, the contents of that file are processed by an AI parsing service to extract the program listings. Only the uploaded file's content is processed for this purpose.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Service providers
We share information only with the providers we rely on to run the service, and only as needed:
- SignalWire — delivers text messages such as sign-in codes;
- Amazon Web Services — delivers email notifications;
- Anthropic — AI parsing of uploaded program schedules;
- Meta (Facebook) and YouTube — receive a channel's live video and broadcast details when the channel connects those platforms and starts a broadcast.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of SMC, our customers, or the public.
Facebook and YouTube data
When a channel administrator connects a Facebook Page or YouTube destination, we use the resulting access credentials for one purpose only: creating and managing the live broadcasts that the administrator starts from the portal. We do not read a Page's messages, followers, or other content beyond what is needed to list the Pages available for connection and show the status of an active broadcast. Credentials are stored encrypted and are deleted when the connection is removed.
Data retention and deletion
We keep information for as long as the channel it belongs to remains an SMC customer, and for a reasonable period afterwards as required for backups, security records, and legal obligations.
To delete your data:
- Facebook connections — remove the Page connection in the portal's Live Events page, or remove the SMC app from your Facebook account's Settings → Business integrations. Either action invalidates the stored credentials, and we delete them.
- Administrator accounts and any other data — email us at support@livecdn.io from the address on the account, and we will delete the data within 30 days except where we are legally required to keep it.
Security
All traffic to the platform is encrypted in transit. Sign-in uses one-time codes or passkeys rather than stored passwords, sensitive credentials such as connected platform tokens are encrypted at rest, and administrative access is limited to the channels each administrator has been granted.
Children
The admin portal is a business tool and is not directed to children. The channel apps we publish do not require accounts and do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Continued use of the service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
